Up here is a vintage Parker “51” DJ Double Jewel Deluxe Mark I series fountain pen, which was manufactured in USA circa 1950s.

The size of this Parker 51 is large, with overall length near 5-1/2 inches.

The Parker “51” went into production in 1941, and remained a best-seller for decades thereafter. Perhaps no other fountain pen has been so unanimously acclaimed as a classic. Nor is it merely a triumph of styling – though it has a place in the Museum of Modern Art’s design collection, and Lazlo Moholy-Nagy found it worthy of praise – for it is also one of the most robust and practical writing instruments ever made.

This stylish Parker “51” is a RARE AND HIGHEST GRADE of the series, with double-jewel / twin-tassie Mark I series.

It has been manufactured in classic color – Cordovan Brown celluloid material.

The cap is in 1/10 16K gold filled, in excellent condition, WITHOUT any damages, dings, dents. At the bottom of the cap is art-deco embossing “feather/Chevron” cap band, with imprint ‘1/10 16K GOLD FILLED MADE IN U.S.A.’.

On the pocket clip is a blue diamond, representing Parker’s lifetime warranty.

The vacumatic filling system is in working order.

This Parker “51” has a classic elegance and has been produced to the highest standards of craftsmanship, technology and aesthetics. This is rare and very much sought after, of such a collectible and vintage pen in nice condition.

The Parker Pen Company was founded in 1888 by George S. Parker, whose mission was to manufacture a better pen. The Parker Pen Company’s tradition epitomizes the highest standards of craftsmanship, technology, and aesthetics. In 1921, the company introduced the iconic Parker Duofold pen. Yet by the early 1930s, Parker launched replacement for Duofold, the Vacumatic. In 1941, the company developed the most widely used model of fountain pen in history (over $400 million worth of sales in its 30-year history), the Parker 51. It is also referred as ‘the most wanted pen’. From the 1920s to the 1960s, Parker was No.1 in worldwide writing instrument sales.
