Mabie Todd Swan 1500 – Up here is a vintage Mabie Todd Swan fountain pen, which was manufactured in USA circa 1890s.
It is an antique grade pen.
This is a RARE early Swan model, in stunning highly sought after black chased hard rubber. The chasing is in excellent nearly mint condition, very rare to find. There is no discoloration on the black hard rubber which is nice and highly collectible.
The pen comes with 2 extra broad gold filled cap and barrel art-deco bands, handcrafted embossed with floral pattern.
The imprint on the pen is nice and crisp, very neat like new. On the cap is embossed with a “SWAN 1500″ trademark logo. On the section is also embossed with the model number ‘”SWAN” 1500’. On the barrel is an excellent clear imprint reads ‘THE “SWAN” PEN MABIE TODD & CO NEW YORK MADE IN U.S.A. DURING WAR’. And at near barrel end is the model number ‘1500 MED. BRD.’.
The pen bears a nice 14ct solid gold nib, writing smooth medium line.
The pen bears an eyedropper filler system. The pen has been serviced.
